Here is another astounding bit of wisdom from me. I am not speaking for all enlisted men but when I did my 4 years back in the Vietnam days of course I was aware of gay soldiers but like nearly everyone else back then it was no big deal. In fact it was no deal at all. If I remember it right during all of that time only one fellow asked me out for a date and after I said no thanks it was a non-issue. I was not traumatized for life nor was I unfit to be a soldier as a result.
Now I see that a federal judge has rightly issued an injunction against the no tell law and I applsud her. As a veteran I can safely say that I didn't give a rat's ass about the sexual preferences of my mates. The Pentagon and the politicians would like to study the issue for another 10 years or so but in the end justice will prevail no matter how long they seek to deny people their constitutional rights.
