The Everett Animal Shelter opened again Thursday morning for feline adoptions.
It's the emptiest the place has been since it opened, after the staff put down nearly all the cats in its care Monday. The shelter made that decision after discovering a kitten that died in its cage had feline panleukopenia, an infectious virus, also known as feline distemper, that can kill cats in a day.
