Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Obviously this man has integrity or he would not have survived this confirmation.

Kevin,

This man knew he was to pay additional tax. He was investigated to make sure he owed this back tax and he did. He then refused to pay the tax along with penalties and interest...his excuse; "I didn't know I had to pay it". This man has no integrity and the confirmation hearing was a farce. This is the man who is now in charge of the IRS and he didn't even pay his own taxes...great pick. Try not paying your taxes and see what it gets you; I can guarantee it would be a treasury post.

Integrity-schmintegrity. The only requirement seems to be that the applicant is Jewish. He fulfills the requirement.

Transparency...

I guess that means we're going to do right in front of you even though we know the majority of you don't think its right and don't want it.

Just like the bail-outs...

The feeling of necessity won...not integrity! I voted for Obama and hopefully, this is not the course we will be going. We will now need oversight for this man. Senator Collins was very graceful in her "no" vote explanation and she was so right. This was not a mistake or oversight. Here again we push through a man with no integrity (showing his self served dishonesty) because we are afraid. I am sure there was another honest taxpayer who could do just as well. I hope he and his family enjoy their wealth.

I think it is a disgrace to confirm this man just because Obama wants to move "swiftly" on everything. Economists have said Geithner has made so many errors in his current position that he had no business being considered in the first place. This guy is going to head the IRS. What an insult to the rest of us who pay our takes on time, often having to get a loan to do it.

that trillion dollar stimulus looming out there has almost ALL of congress running scared. They see it as a christmas tree with lots of presents and they all want one, so nobody wants to vote no for any of obama's appointees. Richardson resigned, but there are several other appointees that would not have survived the process in normal times.

BTW, Senator Collins will probably not get a present from under the stimulus tree.

I think it's an absolute joke to confirm someone to head up treasury INCLUDING IRS when they have a history of not paying taxes.

Wake up people. He is NY Federal Reserve Bank Chief! You still dont' understand who runs things in the world do you. How much of the taxes we pay go to the Federal Reserve Bank? Exactly! Why would they put someone in charge that doesn't understand their policies. We pay taxes to go pay back the money these politicians borrow in the first place (not us but them) and we pay it back and then brainwashed into thinking it's necessary and being a good American. They even brainwash our dumb azzes to thinking it's the right thing to do is pay taxes. You need to do some real study in history on taxes. There are former IRS employess that know it's unconstitutional for them to tax us and pay taxes and they dont' pay it. If everyone knew this and we started a huge campaign to look into this the truth would come to light and they'd have to answer our questions but nooooo we're hood winked into thinking if we don't then we aren't real Americans. Biggest fraud in this country. You get people that go to jail and this man gets nothing but a slap on the risk. PLEASE! What a country. I wonder how many of all the picks belong to the Masons, or Skull and Bones or some other part of the secret society groups the are owned by these crooks and especially the World Bank Group of the Rothchilds and Rockerfellers? "Geithner will be directing the nation's economic recovery from the worst financial crisis in three generations,"

Let's see. Unless I'm mistaken, 3 generations is 60 years.

Unemployment is 7.2% and Inflation is minus -1.9%, making the "Misery Index" a net of 5.3%. During Jimmy Carter's Administration, it got as high as 21.98%, with Interest Rates approaching 20%. Yup, this is obviously much worse than Carter's numbers.

Why not just claim that it's the worst economy in human history, since the author doesn't bother to show any facts.

I'm a liberal democrat, and proud of it. I'm also not at all enthralled with Obama's cabinet. He's kowtowing to the right wing after he won A MANDATE. To quote the Bush crimeboss, "He's got political capital"....but he's NOT using it. I don't know if it's because he's an African American, and afraid to appear too liberal or what...but he's kowtowing and showing no backbone. As far as his selection of Geithner, this little punk is worm, AND TOOK ONLY ONE FINANCE CLASS in his life. How the hell has he gotten to where he is today, other than probably worming his way around, just like he did by not paying $34,000 IN TAXES. I'm very sorry he was confirmed, and YEAH to Bernie Sanders, Tom Harkin, and Russ Feingold for also voting No.

It's not integrity that this man has, it's guilt for being found out and now the entire country knows so he had to pay up. I feel, per the article, the economy is in shambles and it was better to expedite his confirmation than wait any longer. However, all it takes is one slip-up, like his memory failing, to throw everything into shambles. At least we have been forewarned.

Obama's administration KNEW he was a tax evader when they appointed him. According to the Wall Street Journal:

Obama aides said they didn't think these issues would present a problem, given what they characterized as the minor nature of the infractions and the gravity of the role Mr. Geithner has been nominated to take.

Every one of them is dishonest to the core. I look down on them, not up to them!

It's a shame that a tax evader gets the job. If he is the smartest guy for the job and can't remember to pay after signing all the forms and being sent the paperwork .... well I guess that's the change O' promised , it just looks different than he described it.

Fits right in with no lobbyists and transparency. They just look different in the harsh light of reality. Like Geithner's ex lobbyist (for goldman) and the new lobbyist forO' in defense..... can you say flip flop or is that just the sound of lack of credibility ?

I think this nomination / confirmation is indicative of how Obama's economic plan will go: a flawed economic plan - trying to extract the country out of a recession with gov't spending, on borrowed money - managed by a Treasury Secretary who didn't pay his personal taxes until he got caught. Even the senior Democrat Senator, Byrd, wouldn't go for it.

I don't know about you but not paying my taxes would not work for me. In my state if you owe any state taxes you cannot hold any type of license. Now do you know who slipped that little bill in ? I know you will never guess a Democrat.  This guy is slime.  Now do any of you fine people really believe this stimulus package will work?

The package,WILDWON..., absolutely will not work, and many Americans are becoming aware of that. On Glenn Beck's daily website you can see where most of these billions are actually "porked". This is the biggest scam on American voters...ever!

They are getting everything ready for the New World Order (NWO). I want Barack to suceed in everything but, I pray he fails in turning our country into complete socialism. That will be the beginning if he achieves this. The NWO is no secret; it's all over the internet. I saw on video where President JFK talked against it, addressed it quite well, said it was a secret society, was evil, and he was assassinated. His brother, RFK would have been President if he had lived. He was, as I have read against it also. He was assassinated. I saw the video where President Bush '41 spoke in favor of the NWO and he said it will be a reality.

Saying the stimulus package won't work is an understatement. I actually like the idea of this guy being confirmed. The worse it gets the more people will educate themselves. It's all right there. I have a four year college degree but was never introduced to the concept of money. I had to pursue the subject on my own.

                    PEOPLE PLEASE WAKE UP

Every dollar in your pocket or in your bank account represents a debt that someone owes with interest. The only way new money is created is by the creation of new debt. If we all worked really hard and tried to pay off all our debt there would be no money in the system. In fact it is impossible. They never created the money to pay the interest. For someone to become, "rich," people or peoples need to be in debt. It's really simple. Our country is literally being robbed from us right in front of our eyes. Don't expect the media to educate you. They're in on it. They're owned by these people.

Please look up, "money as debt," or, "fractional reserve lending."

The year I divorced my first wife our taxes got fowled up, I'm a "little person" as you say, and I did not get locked up as you seem to think I should have been! The IRS did not bring the error to my attention for 4 years, FOUR YEARS! All they wanted was the money and their interest and their fines! It was a nightmare.

You want to sit there and proclaim there should be no exemption for a mistake! I will have you know that a mistake is just that, a mistake! Now, if I had done it intentionally I would have expected worse. Anyone who knowingly cheats on their taxes should pay heavily, but lock 'em all up?...Please!

There should be no exemption for Mr Geithner to be treasury secretary. It is time our government stood for integrity and set a GOOD example. From what I understand he knew for awhile that he still owed on his taxes but did not make good until he was tapped for the position. There is no integrityin that type of behavior.

That's the difference...integrity is paramount in our leader's lives... Geithner was well aware of his unpaid taxes..and if he wasn't, why in the hell is he being considered for a role in the US Treasury Department!!!!!!!? There's a wise old saying, "In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve."

Well, Obama is what the people wanted, so they are getting what they deserve. Far too few bothered to look at this guy's background in any depth. If they had done so, they would have realized how extreme his views are. And what about the extremists he called his friends? Didn't our moms tell us that "Birds of a feather flock together" or "You're known by the company you keep." Maybe we should have listened better to our moms.

Now we have a guy heading the Treasury Department who didn't pay taxes for a few years. But we also have a new head of the Executive Branch of our national government (Obama) who has no executive experience whatsoever. How many people do you know that run a company without executive experience? Aren't CEO's expected to have years of experience beforehand?

This was not a mistake this was an intentional and deliberate misfiling of his taxes. He was paid additional compensation to pay his taxes and he pocketed the extra money as well. Taxes are complicated but the person who will be in charge of the treasury should be able to get through them without to many calls to the help line.

These Senate no-voters are nothing but disingenuous grand-standers. Anyone who's concluded the tax issues proved Geitner unfit to serve should screaming from rooftops - given the portfolio Geitner will be handling. Obviously, no one is.

                      kevin in Texas,

if this man had integrity he would have paid his taxes. or atleast excused himself from the position all together knowing he had done something wrong. having integrity means taking  responsibility for your self and not making excuses when you deliverately do something wrong.

And we're all forgetting the other"little matter" about a certain housekeeper. Mr. Geithner has more "oopsies" in his background than are acceptable, particularly in this financial climate.

Of course, in all fairness, he follows Paulson, water-boy for Goldman Sachs.

Geithner is either a tax evader (for not paying his taxes) or an idiot (for not knowing he was supposed to pay his taxes). Which one of those do you want for the Treasury Secretary?

We have no standards anymore... America is setting a very poor example..law abiding citizens apparently are the suckers these days.  This is just one more tainted politician sitting in DC making decisions about our futures. Disgusting and unacceptable.  Is it any wonder the leaders who do have spotless records want nothing to do with Washington...now all we get is throw backs and liars...cheaters and criminals, the best and the brightest are not running this nation.

Only in Bama land can a man break the law and say he's sorry and all is forgiven. This is why their are so many blacks in prison because you just can't say I sorry I made a mistake and not be held accountable for it. Next thing you'll see is the Bama man pardoning all those criminals because they said the're sorry it was a mistake. Way to go Bama man I guess the Gitmo detainies will be next?

I think your perception on this is skewed! Mr. Obama has never said anything about pardoning any black person in prison because the say "I'm sorry". Obama has even called out black men in general for not living up to their responsibilities concerning their children!

What about Richard Nixon? Firing Spiro T. Agnew, appointing Gerald Ford as successor, resigning the Presidency and then getting a Presidential pardon from President Ford!

You need to give some better examples of your claim that Obama will let people off the hook.

Cheney gave more money to charity than al Gore, Bill Clinton, And Obama combined. Scooter libby was not pardoned because the president felt he had not told the truth.

I know the left wants you to believe that Cheney is some kind of criminal but there is absolutely no basis to that. The only reason the world found out about any corruption in Cheneys company is because when he became CEO he rooted it out and brought it into the open. Haliburton was turned upside down by Cheney I know you wont here that on any news chanels but people on the inside know what happened. Cheney got rid of some of the biggest money makers for haliburton precisely because they were paying bribes to foreign governments. He was not popular with the corrupt culture and he was not popular with the news media hence we have him portrayed as evil.

Ok, now. Just as Bill The Adulterer Clinton rubber stamped adultery and lying under oath, Geithner has rubber stamped cheating on your taxes.  I guess that means we can all not pay taxes and say it was an unfortunate mistake if we get audited.  Does that mean we also do not have to pay penalties and interest?  There goes any hopeadope of BO financing his boondoggle stimulus package off the backs of the American taxpayers.  Yippee!!!

Geithner wouldn't be able to get a job filing tax returns at H & R Block for failing to pay taxes for three years! Yet, he's is confirmed to head the Treasury Department. Atleast there were 34 Senators who understood the negativeperception that would be created byappointing a tax cheat to head the Treasury Department.

So much for "change!" What a complete joke our elected leadership is! I can only imagine what would happen to me if I were nailed for failing to pay taxes for three years in a row!I doubtI would be able to get any job in the Federal Gov.

As an Obama supporter I liked the messages the guy was giving when he was running.  Now I have concerns that he is not the man we thought he was.  All of this makes me worry about the man and his character. He is making too many mistakes in who he is choosing to surround himself with in his cabinet and, unfortunately, the country will pay for it.

Of course you liked the message he was hawking! But I have news for you David! It was all a lie! I KNEW ( so did many, many others) Obama was not the man he claimed to be and that perhaps his character left something to be desired! The tip off was that everyone around this guy was either in jail (Rezko), or spouting a racist agenda from the pulpit. Yet, Obama played innocent and came out smelling like a rose everytime.

I commend you though for admitting your support for Obama is now giving you some concerns. That's the first step to recovery!

That's the problem with campaign rhetoric and a left wing liberal media elected president. No one except the conservative journalists bothered investigating BO or his credentials or questioning just what kind of "change" he intended for America. If he had been held to task on his associations, his voting record and his socialist bullshi*by the media the way GWB has been regarding his positions, he would have folded like a cheap suit and we would not now be facing a whole new set of problems. People just allowed themselves to be swept along by BO's empty promises and the "historicality" of electing the first black president. Huh, credentials like that would NEVER have been acceptable for a Republican or a white candidate. I think there are going to be a lot of people like you who regret the fact that they voted this dufus into office. Hopefully, he and his posse won't be able to do too much damage before they can be run out of office.

We voted in Bush twice - yes we did. And Obama may be better or he may be worse.

I see again the notion displayed that even today that the slight majority (53%) feels that the slight minority (46%) can have no rights or opinions.

                              Not true.

"Can't be worse than Bush/Cheney and many US idiots voted those fools in twice!!!"

Of course it can, have you not bothered to look around or read Obama's proposals, to look at what "US idiots" just voted into office!?

Have you bothered to look at Obama's policies. They are, for the most part, completely plagiarized from the Bush playbook. The only difference I seem to be able to find is the price tag.

Bush was the single most fiscal liberal President in US history, giving us a world record corporate tax along with record taxes, rates, and fees against the job creators (despite the false accusations that he was helping the wealthy line their pockets, proven wrong by the very fact that we are facing the problems today caused by these business sufferings.. Obviously, this created greater outsourcing, inflated prices, business failures, and job cutbacks.

Now Obama proposes all of the same thing, but taking even MORE from the job creators in the process. With how much damage taking less did over the past eight years, do you honestly think it won't be worse than Bush/Cheney? Come on, another four years of Bush would have been better than what Obama is getting set to play. Create jobs by taking more from the job creators, have we not learned already? It CAN get worse than Bush/Cheney, a bit over half of the country voted in worse. It not only can get worse, it will undoubtedly get worse, until we can vote this moron out of office in four years.

I was vehemently opposed to Obama but we can't judge his whole presidency on this one dumb act. This is a failure of Congress and the president but I will give Obama a little more leeway in that he just got the job a week ago and his advisors told him this was the best guy for the job so he went with him. you can bet Obama never new this guy and probably still has never met him. Hopefully Obama will learn quickly he cant just push criminals on to the american people and have us accept it.

Did anyone expect this bunch of sheep to show some backbone and refuse to induct this crook ? Where's all this change Hussein promised ? This guy is as responsible for the mess the economy is in, as much as his buddy Paulson .  If he can't pay his taxes, and figure them out, how is he going to do the taxpayers any good ?  Oh I get it now, he's going to show us how not to pay our taxes . Well that fits in with his other buddies, Frank, Dodd, and Shumer, with getting a smile or two from Pelosi and Reid... Yessir, just what we needed another crook to round out this amatuer administration. It might save us some money at that.  We can have one trial for them all in about another year and toss them in with the fugitives from Gitmo and that should take care of them.. ' Course Pelosi doesn't want them in Alcatraz . She calls that dump a National Shrine. Here's a broad who helped to bankrupt the entire state, and she's coming here to help Obama to sind the rest of the ship. Yessir, we sure are better off now. It took Bush 8 years to put this country in this mess.  It will take Obama about 6 months to ruin us forever.. What a crew.

Amen Tomas! Pelosi ( she apparently thinks increasing welfare stamps and subsidizing condoms will stimulate the economy) needs to beremoved as far way from any position leadership...preferably the moon, but I would settle for OUT OF OFFICE!

Pelosi is one of the most corrupt, inept, pieces of garbage that has ever held a position of leadership in this country! And that's saying something! She has helped run California into the toilet and now she has a hand ( under Obama) in running the entire country into oblivion.

I found it interesting that Pelosi views more people as a burdon on government instead of as the producers of all that is america. Government is nothing without people. This showed a great insight into her lack of character and complete lack of understanding as to what americans are and what government is.

Amen, KL-813951......the man is guilty of 4 years of tax evasion. Change we can believe in right......day by day that is true....We now have a person in charge of the IRS that not only didn't pay his own taxes for 4 years, but basically stole the money from his company who gave him the money that he was supposed to use to pay it. Absolutely crazy that anyone could construe this as "an honest mistake". Yeah, the mistake in his mind is that he got caught.

Why would we believe anything he tells us about the economy after he lied to Congress and got a pass? Toaccept that he errored because of Turbo Tax orany other "mistake" is laughable.

Actually, his so called "intelligence" is certainly questionable at this time. I mean we know he has cheated on his taxes ( failing to pay four years in a row is not a mistake folks, no matter how you want to spin it). Who's to say he didn't cheat on his SAT's or perhaps his college exams, assignments.

You see, that's the thing about being dishonest. It casts a negative light on other areas of your life, including past accomplishments. It creates a perception of impropriety, when in fact there may have been none.

That's what apparently 60 Senators failed to see today when they confirmed Geithner. That's the issue here!

Ok - if I forget to pay my taxes all I have to do is say I am sorry it was a mistake - wow talk about fitting in - there you go Barack you are a true politician - abusing your power to influence others to appoint someone to a trusted position that apparently cannot be trusted - WAY TO GO!  also, I do not care what your name is or what it's meaning is or what color you are - but I do care if you are a true Patriot of the country that elected you - seeing for a long time you would not salute our flag or wear the flag pin - that makes a statement to the public about where your loyalities are - certainly not with the American public!  What a disappointment & for a second I thought you might be a man of your word - nothing has changed in the white house except for the fast that your are half African American & how come you never bring up the fact that  you are half white are you ashamed? - it is a sad day when you use your name & color to get elected - just like all the other politicians - out for yourself & your agenda!  The working class will get a little tidbit to keep them quiet but in the end we get the bill & it is the working class & our children & our great grandchildren who will have to pay for your choices - stop spending our money on terrorist nations - let Israel deal with them, Israel knows what they are doing and how these terrorist think, we do not, & if they defeat Israel it is only a matter of time before they come to this country and try to take it over - the Muslims have said they will take over our country from the inside out - what better way than to start with our President - do not be fooled by these terrorist because they would just as soon kill all Americans as they would the Jews.  We need to unite with Israel in their attempt to get rid of these terrorists or we will never feel safe.  I do have a question - does your birth certificate say African American on it because by my calculations when you were born the term African American was not being used - my Dad was in the Air Force and he said he never heard the term African American being used at the time you were born - can you explain that one!

I'll explain it to you. Each generation of people of ethnicity in this country develop their own identity and reserve the right to define and describe themselves as they see fit. As a 40 year old, I long ago decided to refer to myself as African-American. Not colored, as your Dad may have defined me, not Negro, as your Dad may have defined me, and certainly not black, as the current white media and maybe your Dad tries to define me. African-American is the only description that is not COLOR based. It is a NOUN not an adjective for color. Sort of like Orientals now calling themselves Asian or Hispanics now referring to themselves as Latino. Get it. Good, Now explain it to you Dad -- with all due respect....

Really? Well how about just defining yourself as an AMERICAN, without the hyphenated references to ethnicity, race, and/or former country of origin (were you born in Africa)?

                                    Is that an option?

"As a 40 year old, I long ago decided to refer to myself as African-American. Not colored, as your Dad may have defined me, not Negro, as your Dad may have defined me, and certainly not black, as the current white media and maybe your Dad tries to define me."

So then I assume that you were born in Africa and have since moved to America? Either that, or you're a liar. I promised a friend of mine, an actual African American (you know, an African who moved to America, strong African accent, brother still lives in Kenya), that I would never refer to a black man as an African American if he never held citizenship in Africa.

You're right, African American is NOT a color, it's a noun. A white person born in African who moves to America is an African American, much more so than you are. So what gives you the right to call yourself one simply because you're black? You think that the "white" media defines you as black? Time to wake up to reality, you ARE black, same as white people are white! If you can be an African American simply because some distant ancestors came from Africa, then you must (the only way for this to be fair) refer to me as an English Irish Scottish German Japanese African American! Yep, even have African in there for me as well, and I'm white. Since I'm sure you'll keep calling me white, you're still just an American who happens to be black.

An Asian is Oriental, a Hispanic may be Latino, but if you're black you are NOT an African American. You don't reserve the right, despite your claim, to call yourself whatever you want. If you are not from Africa, you are not an African American. You are an American who happens to be black. That's the real world, that's the facts, and lying and calling yourself something else doesn't magically change anything. Of all the stupid racist comments to post, you just "decide" to call yourself an African American because only the "white" people would call you black. If you're black then you're black, if you're white then you're white, and just because African American is a noun in your book (that reasoning doesn't even make any sense) doesn't mean you can claim to be one when you're not. If you have never been to African, then you will NEVER be an African American, period. But I'm sure you'll continue to lie to people and call yourself something you're not, just as I'm sure you're still make dumb comments such as "the white media calls you black."

I prefer Appalachian-American, I feel left out. I am only some white guy, I want to be special too. Americans cant be discriminated against right? I think all people in this country need to find some hyphenation. Gay or homo-American, Latin-American, Jewish-American, Scotts-American, Female-American lets just give what is left away and we can all speak Chinese or Russian. We have few American owned companies left why not just get it over with so we can fulfill all those-in-power's wishes and cut the hyphenation out as well as American. Hyphenate American? Get the @!$%# out of the country to where ever it is you want to be identified. I just want the same special rights too. Women can’t be told what to do with their bodies… that’s fine but don’t tell this white male what to do with his. It is discriminatory to invent a law based only on females who bare children, if some woman who can have healthy children are permitted to have their children cut out piece by piece from her body I want to legally smoke doobies or not wear my seat belt if I choose not to or do something else bad to my body. Give me a break; all these non-white male citizens have more rights than I do, give me a little something special too. Illegals will be forgiven for breaking the law an African-American can fail a civil service test yet still get the job over some white dude who scored high where is the equality Dr. King preached and marched for?

About time you stood up and fought for your rights. We are a very diverse country and it seems that whatever nationality you are that's where you want to live and keep your customs, culture, language, and be a part of the freedoms, but not a part of the America we once knew. I suppose we all feel more comfortable with people who are like ourselves, for the most part, but it isn't the best thing for our country to be so culturally, ethnically isolated from others and stay in our own little China, VietNam, Jewish, Italian, Hispanic, African American and other ethnic communities.

It's a changing world and not one that we feell at ease with. Yes, to those who said One World Order is coming. It is, it is a matter of time, it is prophecied in the Bible that in the end times there would be one world order, one world bank, and one world religion and a time of great turmoil such as the earth had never seen before. It's coming and it is evil.

By the way, Robert Byrd got something right for a change. He's right this guy Geithner would never have paid if he hadn't been found out. He is a big mistake, but then it's looking like the whole election of Obama is a mistake. Hasty decisions to accomplish promises could make for very bad decisions for our nation. Act in haste and repent in leisure.

Liberals and minorities always toss out the race card just to let you know they have it to play if needed. Then they preach for equality ( a good thing for all) and a blending in America(a good thing too). We are all Americans they say not white not black not brown not yellow (which is another good thing) just Americans .... but then why the need for the hyphen African- , Hispanic-, Mexican-, I thought we were all supposed to ignore color ( another good thing) and just see the person ? If you want to be just an American be one .

CHANGE IS GREAT !!!!!! I too think there is too much corruption in politics. I will be joining with Geithner in not helping this ponzi scheme to continue by not supplying them with funding. If it is O.K. with the new head of the I.R.S. to not pay taxes, I say HORAAYYY!!!!!!! Lets ALL do it.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. not my quote , but a pretty smart guy, Thomas Jeffeson to Sec od the Treasury Albert Gallatin in 1802

A private owned bank already controls our currency. It is called the Federal Reserve Bank. It is not nor has ever been part of the government.

Jefferson would turn over in his grave if he could see where the wonderful country he helped establish has ended up.

Is this the same Jefferson who raped a teen-aged African slave (racist and pedophile)? The same Jefferson whose lineage tried to deny the existence of his African-American offspring until science and DNA forced them to accept what we already knew. He's no different than Geithner in this respect. A really intelligent fellow with flaws. I guess we all are.... No disrespect meant to the Founding Fathers but a Spade is a Spade!
